About Bergen Diesel

Built by hand. Trusted by drivers who can't afford downtime.
Bergen Diesel was founded in 2017 by Abraham Lopez — but the story behind it started long before that.
Abraham is a self-taught mechanic. He picked up his first wrench at 18 years old and never stopped learning. For over a decade, he built and rebuilt Honda and Acura engines, then moved into rebuilding inboard American engines for race boats — high-performance work where there's no room for error. During those years he worked at Tune for Life, sharpening the kind of hands-on, detail-obsessed skill that only comes from years under the hood.
By the time Abraham turned 30, his path shifted. After the passing of his business partner, Reidy, he moved into diesel truck repair — and found his true focus. Rather than trying to be everything to everyone, Abraham built Bergen Diesel around a specific niche: Ford Power Strokes, along with Dodge Ram Cummins and Duramax platforms.
That focus is what sets Bergen Diesel apart. We're not a general repair shop that also touches diesels — diesel trucks are the only thing we do. From full engine installs and complete engine rebuilds to fuel system replacements, front-end work, rear differential rebuilds, and transmission rebuilds, every job that comes through our bay gets the same standard: build it right, the first time.
What we do

Why it matters
When your truck is down, your business is down. Abraham's approach — rooted in decades of hands-on, self-taught mastery across engines, race boats, and now diesel trucks — means Bergen Diesel treats every repair like it's going back into a truck that has to work, every single day, no excuses.
